Meet the Innkeeper
The Innkeeper, Vicki Weiss, is the gracious hosts of the Huddy House Bed & Breakfast. The Innkeeper or one of the Huddy House staff members will greet you upon check-in and provide a wonderful tour of this historic Victorian Mansion. If you have never stayed at a B&B before, this experience of lodging at Toms River’s best Bed & Breakfast will set the standards above what you would ever expect. Five-star hospitality is a standard at the Huddy House that is ensured to be delivered to each guest who visits this magnificent home. Guests are encouraged to call the Innkeepers prior to their visit to provide any details regarding their stay and give an estimated time of arrival.
The Innkeepers will introduce you to your guest suite, provide information on local attractions, care for your special requests, maintain the cleanliness of your room & property, and prepare outstanding refreshments upon your arrival. During the tour, you will learn about the modern amenities that are included with your stay while enjoying hospitality at its finest. Vicki will set the scene to a gourmet breakfast each morning at the Mathis House, her sister property just one-block away from the Huddy House. While the Innkeeper is attentive and engaging, she encourages each guest to enjoy the home as if it were their own while you enjoy your privacy.
Vicki, a Toms River local, was introduced to the Mathis House at 600 Main, sister property to the Huddy House, as a guest nearly a decade ago. Since then, she and the owners of the family-owned business have become great friends. Vicki resided in the home for five months during Super Storm of Sandy, was married in the home several years ago, and is now the Innkeeper for this Victorian Architectural Masterpiece that she has grown to love. Vicki resides on the third floor of the Mathis House and enjoys meeting travelers from all over the world. Whichever property you stay at, you will enter as a guest but you will leave as a friend.
In addition to fulfilling the role of the Innkeeper, Vicki is the hostess who preserves the integrity of the history of the original owners of the Mathis House, Mr. Thomas Mathis and Mr. Maja Berry. She provides historical tours of the Mathis House to the visitors of Downtown Toms River. During the holiday season, Vicki creates an experience for visitors as she dresses in a beautiful Victorian gown and explains the rich history of the home which is now operating as one of New Jersey’s Best Tea Rooms and a top-rated Bed & Breakfasts. Additionally, Vicki serves as the Maître D’ for Afternoon Tea service and attends to the requests of the celebrants that are planning special events at the Inn.
